How it all Works

Vtubes is a different venue, so for information on how that site works, go HERE.

This site is unlike any other selling venue with a real swap meet/flea market feel.
The primary goal is to have fun and have a buying/selling community for the radio and electronic clubs around the world. This promotes a 'safer trading' environment for all. Club members will be recognized by the club name that appears on the item details page so you know who you are dealing with. Non-club members are welcome, but should consider joining a local club to get the full benefit of this site. Participating clubs are listed in the clubs page.

As a seller, you simply get a table as you would at a swap meet. There are NO charges at all for selling or buying. Selling is open to ALL members. You can keep up to 10 items on your table. As you sell items, you can keep replenishing your table. If you have more than 10 items, you need another table. A table initialy stays active for 15 days. New items, when listed, will reset the table expiration to 15 days, relisted items will not. If a table is about to expire, it will extend 15 more days if there are any active items for sale on that table. Be creative with your table name(s) to lure potential buyers.

There are two ways to sell. By auction, or 'Buy Now Only'. You choose which type on the 'Post Item Page'. 'Buy Now Only' is simply a sale at a set price and has no bidding. An auction allows bidding and has an optional 'Instant Purchase' feature.

If a 'buy now' amount is entered on the 'post item page' without selecting 'BuyNow Only', that auction item will still be available for 'Buy Now' until the reserve is met.

This site provides a way to get your goods seen by the world. One big difference between a local swap meet and this site is your items are available to millions of web surfers 24/7 for 15 days, not just a few hundred people for a few hours.

As a buyer you first need to register , which is totally free. Then you can browse the tables, or if your needs are more specific, you can browse the categories or do a more detailed search using our search engine. When you find an item you want you can buy it, if the seller has allowed an instant purchase, or bid on the item.

An auction here can work quite diferently than other online auction sites. Sellers can choose either a regular auction, or a 'dynamic auctions'. Dynamic auction's work like this. As the auction nears its end, any bids placed in the last minutes of the auction will extend the auction. This helps the buyer and the seller. The buyer no longer has to worry about being 'sniped' and have lost at the last second. The seller maximize his profits. This will discourage last minute bidders and eliminate sniping. The item detail page will state if the auction is dynamic and the time of extention.

Site Promotion

A great deal of resources are being put into promoting this site. It will be included in over 800,000 sites and search engines including Yahoo, Google, AOL, and MSN as well as sponsoring a national Press Release. We are starting a national advertising campaign to include radio and club perioicals. See us in ARC starting in the March issue. We also plan on promoting this site at all major meets and events. We will be diligent in getting the word spread to all of the clubs and organizations we can find and personally give presentaions at club meetings.
If you represent a club or organization and haven't heard from us yet, contact web@radioswapmeet.com to schedule an appointment.

Overview of Site Rules

The number one rule is have fun. Number two is use common sense when buying/selling. This venue will by design be more lax in its rules then other sites. That's the main reason this site was created in the first place. But there are a few rules to be aware of and I am sure that more will follow as people don't follow rule 2. Any text or pictures made public on this site is not allowed to be offensive or vulgar.
This is an antique/vintage electronic marketplace, so sellers tables must have more items that fit this venue than not. As an example, we will not allow sellers to have tables full of toys or modern computers. As long as the majority of items on a table fits this venue, you are allowed to list a few non-related items as well. Items that qualify are electronic or radio related in nature and fit the antique/vintage venue. Repros, books, tools, testers, supplies/parts, and radio nostalgia applicable to this venue are all acceptable. This venue also includes Amateur radio, Jukeboxes, Televisions, Records and Players, Recording devices, Audio gear/Amps, and Telephones as long as it is of antique/vintage status.

Please read the User Agreement which outlines the site policies and terms of use.
